I think Vancouver had its first freeze around this time last year.

I'm betting on Victoria beating Vancouver easily this year.

I managed to get out with the camera again. It was supposed to rain yesterday, but it only lasted until the morning, and then the sun came out.

It's a bit of a photo dump, but it was a beautiful day.

This goose followed me to my next two photo locations. I've never had a goose follow me like that before. It was strange.

Nice day. Mostly sunny. Supposed to snow tomorrow, being close to the lake I'm not expecting much to stick. Areas north are definitely going to get decent accumulation. Anywho, these are at Frontenac PP.

6C and a mix of sun and clouds. Looks like the last somewhat seasonal day for a while. Weather is turning into absolute shit.

Up to 10C this morning.

The warmspot was White Rock, BC at 15.3C.

Warmest low was Discovery Island, BC at 8.0C.

Mild and clearing.

All week I've been looking forward to Sunday's video to see how the wind was for them. The gusts in Placentia Bay were disgusting.

Decent day yesterday. Cloudy with some sunny breaks. High of 13C.

I had to go to Brentwood. I hadn't been here in a while.

Metrotown overlooks Brentwood and is quite visible from almost every angle looking south.

A rare day of cloudiness in Calgary, but mild, heading for a high of +15C, with +16C for tomorrow. Rest of the week well into the plusses.

I always get a kick out of the posters who never post in the weather thread unless the conditions are unusually nice in their locale, then they dissappear again.

Crap day here. Most of the snow melted on contact. The real issue the wind that came along with it made for a miserable day.

Great pics, Giallo.

And indeed, great pics all around on this page.

Still mild here in Japan, lows around 8, highs ranging between 17 and 21 this week.

Fall really is the best time to visit here.

First snow and first freeze today, definitely the earliest snowfall since I've lived here. We probably got about 3-4 cm this morning but most of it melted on contact. The temperature dropped below 0 this afternoon, November 9 is right about the average frost date over the eight years I've been measuring

It was a nice mild day in Vancouver, partly cloudy, and a high of about 14°C, lots of people walking around.

I'm always fascinated by the differences between you Canadians and us Italians. When I read posts like yours, I realize just how distinct you North American forum members are compared to those who post on Italian weather forums.
For the vast majority of Italians who keenly follow climate and weather events, living in a city with a hot, dry, and sunny climate is considered a great misfortune, almost something to be ashamed of. Sometimes, we actually argue with other users just to prove that the climate of our own city or region is colder, rainier, or (if the forum members live in the mountainous of Italy or inland areas of Central-Northern Italy) snowier, and therefore more beautiful, better, and 'cooler' than the climate of another city or region.
But for you Canadian forum members—at least those posting in this forum—it's the exact opposite. I've never fully understood if this mental attitude is typical of all Canadian weather enthusiasts who, living in a cold and snowy country, long for a warmer, sunnier climate, or if it's just a way of experiencing climate and weather that is unique to the users of this specific forum.

It's raining like a bugger here in Halifax today. It's welcome rain as we still have a long way to go to restore our water table after the summer drought. The forecast suggests possible thunder and lightning this afternoon. I took some garden pics yesterday. I use the pics as a reference and guide for future planting... a diary of sorts to help me remember what does well where and and when I planted, etc.. The forecast high of 16c today will happen overnight. This temp will not be a record but it's much higher than normal. Yesterday the temps were a more normal high of 8.9c and low of 4.2c. Halifax Stanfield airport in Goffs has had a freezing temp but no EC weather stations near me have frozen.

Mid December weather this morning here in London. Slippery roads, frosted cars, snow.

January weather here. Got like 10cm of snow and below freezing temps basically all day today. Very, very early in the year for this kind of snowfall - we usually don't get more than a dusting before mid-December.

The leaves on my trees are coming off FAST now. the maples were mostly still fully leaved and had only started to change colour in the last few days.. now the leaves are shedding very rapidly. But sustained below freezing temp will do that.

Wow, we got walloped! The forecasts were all over the place for yesterday's snow storm, ranging everywhere from a trace amount or mixed percip all the way to 20 cms. Someone on the Toronto subreddit did some digging and found this is the largest 10cm snowfall since the 1900's!

The airport measured in at 9.8 cm, although I think a few more may have come down over night. I measured 11 cm in west Mississauga last night. Pretty incredible seeing a thick blanket of snow on trees that still have their fall colours.

Early snow was always likely this year however - the great lakes were extremely warm due to not only a hot summer (that lasted into the first week of October, basically), but also an extremely sunny one. A blast of arctic air over those still relatively warm lakes and, voila. Don't be shocked if the GTA ends up with more snow in November than January this year.

Today is bitterly cold. It feels like the deep days of Winter we experience in late January and early February. Paying the piper for our extraordinarily long summer, I suppose. Currently -3 and blustery.

The long term forecast is back to seasonal. Between Wed and Sun we will see highs around 6-11 degrees with a mix of sunny days, cloudy days & rainy days. So this snow will all be gone in a few days time. Long long term? Looks like there could be a big pattern shift towards the end of the month bringing more winter like weather to November.
