I mean the market has slowed down. It's the only crane left in Midtown, isn't it? Tech Square was another but it's wrapping up now. It's been a long time since there was only one active project.

Trying to round up what all is in the pipeline, and what lots are left...

Developments... the housing on the Cheetah lot, the one over the fire station, student housing north of the Varsity... I'm sure something else too.

Lots...The big lot between 12th and 13th on Peachtree; the big block bounded by 10th, 11th, Juniper & Peachtree; the lot on West Peachtree between 7th and 8th... the one behind the Academy of Medicine, and the lot south of St. Mark's on Peachtree, the lots surrounding this new tower...

And wasn't something planned for where the FDA is?

Tech crane was removed. But where is the Dewnothing crane for Campanile? Has that been taken down too?

No Campanile crane is still there but I don't count that for anything

Actually I wonder how long that interior can be exposed to the elements before it becomes unsound and needs to be demolished ...

Feels like NYC and Miami are the only cities still building heavily right now. Austin seems to have slowed down dramatically, same with Atlanta. Been keeping up with Nashville development and that city is definitely building more than Atlanta right now. Tennessee's new tallest is under construction there plus new Titans stadium and (very likely) a new MLB team/stadium. That city is hot

Compared to four cities, Atlanta has the worst architectural design level and the fewest outstanding new buildings. New York and Miami aside, the design quality of new buildings in Austin and Nashville surpasses that of Atlanta. Many of Atlanta's newly developed buildings are a sheer waste of money, with huge sums spent on tacky, ugly structures that will soon become obsolete. If this trend continues, Atlanta can only be compared to cities in South Africa！！！！！！！

Most of the significant projects in NYC have been in progress for the last few years, and some of the most new intriguing projects, like 175 Park Avenue, haven’t started despite high demand for class A office space. I am not seeing many starts these days for new projects. I believe when interest rates come back down there will be a lot of pent up demand when the next batch of projects starts.

To put some data into the conversation, Atlanta is the #8 metro in terms of multifamily building permits pulled from Jan-July 2025.

The top 10 are NYC (16,191 permits), DFW, Miami, Houston, Orlando, Phoenix, Columbus OH (???), Atlanta (6,302 permits), Los Angeles, and Austin.

Nashville is far below Atlanta with a little over half the number of both multifamily and single family permits pulled.

Atlanta is #5 in terms of overall (including single family) behind DFW, Houston, NYC, and Phoenix.

2024 was a ridiculously strong year for ATL, where we were #4 behind NYC, Dallas, and Austin only. Other cities like Miami have actually sped up.
