I'm not going to post much about these two buildings, but here, I took these images below of the first two M City phases.

M City and the Exchange Condos

I was in the area today, and photographed some of the M City phases, and got a shot of the Exchange towers. I have to say this development will be and is already creating such a change for the area. In general, this year will be big for Mississauga's downtown.

I'll leave this update simple, but I was in Mississauga's 'downtown' three days ago. M City's first two phases are already leasing retail space, and Scotiabank is going up on the corner lot (of course )

I agree. They look better now

Design took precedence over functionality when it comes to the balconies. The podiums are a huge missed opportunity for commercial space. Sell it as office condos or maybe live/work with commercial floor heights. It's a long term play. These buildings will hopefully still be occupied in 100 years.

My opinion on these towers remains mixed. They look great at certain angles, but from other angles they appear as a wall due to their wide floorplates. Perhaps if they were spaced a bit further away or a few floors apart in height the design language here would be strengthened.

The podium feels too lost in it's various designs, but I like that they used colour on the Burnamthorpe frontage, even if it looks awkward jutting out of the frosted balconies and podium. The townhouse frontage on the side street looks good surprisingly, but I still would prefer more retail going along the perimeter of these towers, the floor plate is certainly big enough for these podiums to support multiple retail units of varying sizes.

I was never going to like these buildings due to the large podiums, but I can say my expectations were passed for this phase, not by much, but moreso than I expected.

lol.. the stroads will look less imposing once the LRT is complete. (or so I'm hoping)

Agree with the general consensus.... These are looking better as they near completion. Its nice to have a break from all the glass boxes/rectangles. Can't wait for the mast scaffolding to come down so we can see the full effect of these towers from various angles.

I think you got the wrong thread... it's not tall enough, and it's not U/C.
