Money probably used to pay for travel costs for all the Michelin employees to go around Texas tasting food and rate their experience. Hotels aren't cheap especially the ones in the running for a star.

Agreed. All the restaurants that got named got a lot of traction right after too. I'm sure there's huge Michelin fans all over the WORLD that will be traveling to try everything that is listed in each city too.

$2.7mil in 3 years is a HUGE bargain to bring in more tourism for the whole state

Original owners of Z were "Jack and Larry".
Jack = Jack Allen's Kitchen.
Larry ( as in the "little Larry margarita) is Larry Foles.
Now part of Guy and Larry restaurants
Which means "Salty Sow" plus many more.
Now scroll up to where you see "Francois at Bar Rogue". That is Chef Harold of Sally opening with Larry.
AND scroll up til you see "The Kimberly" Also part of the Guy and Larry Group.
All roads lead back to Z'tejas!

That's some interesting info.

ZTejas was one of my favorite restaurants in the 90s. But they were surpassed along time ago.
