The former is Remai's rental project for "retired and pre-retired" folks:

1510 is the empty lots on the NW corner of St. Johns. A 19 unit building was previously proposed there. I suspect they added a floor.

And previously an Office was proposed at 1751 (when Fiorante still owned the site):

1751 college permit is $13 million

1510 is $4.6 million

these are generally far less the total cost.

I also note that NEW APOSTOLIC CHURCH CANADA pulled a permit for a new Church at the corner of Chuka and Green Falls. This is right across the street from the giant Living Hope Alliance Church. There's going to be serious serious bible thumping in that neighbourhood!

Years ago there was a discussion on this forum about why most copper roofs in Regina turned black instead of green (Leg, Hotel SK). The conclusion was low humidity. The Globe theatre was the exception.

I am going to make a prediction that the copper sheathing they applying now to the roof will turn black and not match the rest of the roof.

I heard rumors the new owner of The Empire Hotel buildings was doing some work at the site. Today walking buy I saw some orange construction fences going up.

Anyone heard what the plans for the site are?

I heard that it was being demolished.
Was the fence just around the empire hotel or any other buildings (i.e. the entire block)? If the latter, that would suggest it was all coming down (which is what the rumour is).

Great Another major parking spot for the next 30 years. The mayor stated the other city mayors previous never did anything. Looks like she’s doing the same thing. She had four or five years to do something nothing was done

Just the other day I was wondering if they make copper paint with real copper (was getting annoyed with algae repeatedly forming in my outdoor water fountain). That rabbit hole took me to a youtube video where after painting a wall they used a solution to force it to turn green right away.

I believe the fence is only around the building on 11th (tattoo parlour).

According to the Co-op Facebook page, they are moving their administration team onto the second floor. Didn't specify if it is their liquor administration team or some other admin team though

That is right. I know the people who run the arcade in that building and they have to be out by the end of the year.

Location for new joint use elementary, high schools in Regina announced
The provincial government and City of Regina announced the location for future joint use elementary and high schools in the city’s east end on Monday.
Both schools will be located in The Towns neighbourhood, which is near Costco, and combined will be able to accommodate 3,400 students. In August, work also began for a new joint use elementary school and daycare in Regina’s Harbour Landing neighbourhood.
There's currently no timeline on when the schools will be built and opened, but the province said the plan is to begin constuction in the next couple of years.
