Thanks Scaper. Yes I live in Victoria (Saanich). I’ve been “lurking” on this site for awhile now but finally made my first post. I am retired and ride my ebike downtown a few times a week and sometimes take a few pics (with my old iPhone SE).

I really enjoy the photos that you and Zoomer post. You guys have some real skill and a good eye for capturing the beauty of this place.

Great username - did you retire in 2008?! Welcome and thanks for sharing your pics, and Dylan too! That Aryze on Fort is going along quite quickly. There is a steady stream of mid-size projects with a lot of 20 and 30 storey buildings approved now, will be nice to see a bunch of these get started soon. Perhaps waiting on an another interest rate cut or two.

And thanks for the comments everyone

Thanks Zoomer. You are correct about my username. We escaped to Victoria in 2008 after 20+ years in the trenches of Ottawa’s tech industry.

Freedom2008... Amazing photos as well. I love the first one! I see it's your first post are you located in Victoria?

I just heard this today... a 26 story condo building has been approved in Esquimalt.

Here's a photo I took about 7 months ago. I have just picked up a new camera so I'll be taking more photos soon too. I've missed doing that.

Perhaps we should organize a photo walk of downtown coming up if there are people interested?

In the meantime, an update on the new rental on Burdett street. Starts at $1,800 a month for a 350 sq feet and goes up to $4,000 per month for a 3 bedroom 1,240 square foot unit. Looks like I’ll have to come back and take a few more pics as I don’t think they have the glass entrance doors in yet. Maybe waiting until after folks start moving in?

I'm totally up for that. I have a really good friend who will come too. He has been trying to open up a profile on SSP, to post on here but hasn't been able to for some reason.

Has anyone given anymore thought to this? As a matter of fact me and Dylan were wondering if this is going to happen? Or if there was any interest... If so let us know below

I'm good to go. I'll bring my friend as well. I'm sure Zoomer is in. We should go for something to eat downtown, Bin 4, Moxies... Thursday through Saturday is not good for me. Mondays and Sundays are the best. Lets just pick a place and time and do it!!!

Moxies, Bin4, that kind of place is good. Do we want to do lunch, afternoon drinks, or dinner?

Monday the 12th
Sunday the 18th
Monday the 19th
Sunday the 25th
Monday the 26th

Somewhat flexible, but Sunday the 25th would work best for me. I'm open to lunch or afternoon drinks - if we have a slightly later lunch at 1 p.m. we could stay and linger with a few drinks as restaurants should be past their lunch rush by the.

Sounds great. Let's do Sunday the 25th at 1:00. If that works for everyone.
