NASHVILLE | 8th & Demonbreun (Marriott Autograph Hotel) | 448 FT | 36 Floors

This proposal is actually more than a year old, but it was just announced that the developers are in the process of applying for some key permits, and hope to start construction before the end of the year. I didn't see a thread, so I thought I'd start one.

Below is the initial article that was written when this was proposed.

8th & Demonbreun will be a 35 story, 448’ tall hotel tower featuring 750 rooms (unknown brand), 48,235 sq. ft. of meeting space, 7,695 sq. ft. of restaurant/retail space, and 3 levels of underground parking with capacity for 136 cars. 6 levels of bonus height will be requested via the underground parking and LEED Certification offsets.

HKS and Abeyta Tibbs will be the dual architects; Kimley Horn Associates will handle engineering; Louderback Group will be the contractor.

Rumors are that this will be a higher-end Marriott brand. (NOW KNOWN TO BE A MARRIOTT AUTOGRAPH HOTEL)

White Lodging Services Corp. recently submitted a request for bonus height certification for a 35-story hotel tower on Eighth Avenue, according to Metro records. The recent movement on the project comes more than three years after it was revealed. White Lodging Services is eyeing a 789-room hotel, located at 131 Eighth Ave. S., which would make it the third largest hotel in the city based on number of rooms. The firm’s request will go before the Metro Planning Department for approval on Feb. 12.
