Looks like Blatstein is finally moving forward with his last phase of the Schmidt's development in Northern Liberties. The final phase will include over 600 units, more retail space and parking, and green space/green roofs.

From the first link in the OP.

What about the build-out of the two additional apartment buildings planned at Piazza? I asked? "I still own that land," along with the building where his Tower Investments offices are located, Blatstein said. at the Piazza. When will he build more? "I'm looking at it now. The market here is very hot. This neighborhood is on fire. Even across Girard Ave north, everything's being sold."
I would love to see this happen. But given everything Blatstein has going on right now I'm not convinced that this is his top priority. I have no doubt that this will eventually get built (or at least some version of it), I just don't see it breaking ground in the immediate future. I sure hope I get proven wrong though! It would be great to see more high rise and mid rise construction this far out from Center City.

Blatstein just sold 60 % of his interest in the Piazza( total value of the Piazza is believed to be around $130 M) So that may help propel this development, perhaps he teams up with the same NY investors who bought the Piazza, to build phase 2.

Northern Liberties and Fishtown are as popular as they've ever been (perhaps until AVI kicks in). The fact that development has jumped from townhouse and renovation projects to mid-rise and highrise construction in and around Center City, to me, makes this look viable.
