L'Ardoise is a small Acadian fishing community (pop approximately 600) on the South coast of Cape Breton Island. It's about 1.5 hrs driving from Sydney, or about 4 hours driving from Halifax.

A little closer now...also from Google Maps.
These pictures will cover a span from Rockdale in the west to Point Michaud in the east.

Shore Rd...old highway (that takes on a whole new meaning in these parts).
There's a new trend in L'Ardoise of putting solar lights on relatives' graves...it's kinda creepy looking at night.
Fleur-de-Lis trail (aka "new" highway...for this part of the Island).
Now we head further east to Point Michaud Provincial Beach.
It's usually packed with people, but this day it was foggy
Hope you enjoyed.

Thanks, but I probably should have been more specific. This is NS (Nova Scotia), Canada as opposed to where the larger Sydney is in NSW (New South Wales), Australia. I've been spending too much time in the Canada forum, and so forgot to clarify.
Thanks again, and it was actually very hot that week, definitely nice to have when you're so close to so many beaches.
