İstanbul is such a diverse city. When you drive or walk(walking may kill you) you will see that ,in a part, you are in London,Paris,or in another part,Barcelona. Some parts you may think you are in Cairo, and some parts, you think you are in Rio .The description goes on forever...
Now,also Asian part is quite interesting. Some 5 million or may be more live there.Actually,İstanbul was first founded on the asian side,on the shores of ''Kadıkoy'' which was used to be called''Chalcedon'' meaning ''the country of the blind''.On the other hand, there is the ancient ''Uskudar'' historically called''Scutari''.Kadıkoy borough has some 600.000 people and its famous ''Bagdad avenue'' is one of the most important within the city.Actually,it is an avenue of 8 kms(5 miles)but most of its activity is within 3-4 kms with many bars, cafes, expensive shops.İt is also home to various celebrations like independance day,Fenerbahce team ,etc.
İt is a very local area compared to European side where it is very cosmopolitan.
I add some pics of this place.
