Lightbulb HOUSTON | Deyaar Post Oak | HEIGHT | 89 FLOORS | 55 FLOORS

Haven't seen this posted yet, but apparently this is going up in the Galleria. It is an 89-story building with an attached 55-story building next to it. Not much is known about it, but there ya go.

Also, the HAIF post mentions the second tower would be 52 stories, instead of 55.

Cool. So the Emirati equity giants are gonna start building wild US projects now too? I'm down with that...

I'm sure there are likely to be some changes to the current design but yeah it very much mimics the overseas design.

one would hope that a project of this stature/significance would have a much more pleasing or exciting design than anything similar to the building in dubai which although not ugly, certainly isn't remarkable.

Now that I think about it, there's no way in hell that this building would top 1,300 ft. The Sears Tower in Chicago is 110 stories and tops out in the high 1,200's.

Excuse me, I retract that last statement. After doing some quick research, the Sears Tower stands at 1,451 ft. To the top of the antennas is 1,730 ft. So I guess the 89-story building would top out in the 1,200 - 1,300 ft. range. GO HOUSTON!

Sears Tower tops out at 1450 ft. So 1300 ft sounds about right for this tower given the gradual increase in floor-to-ceiling heights in recent decades.

I don't think so. The point that the original poster on the HAIF thread was trying to show was how the tower(s) may be connected, but nothing really other than that.

Also, it would stand to reason that an 89-story office building would be in the "Supertall" category. That is, based on the various heights of the few 900ft + buildings that already exist in the city.

Williams Tower (nee Transco ) - 64 Stories / 901 Ft
Wells Fargo Plaza - 71 Stories / 992 Ft
JPMorgan Chase Tower - 75 Stories / 1,002 Ft

So this should have been in the Supertall Proposals.
