Hutchinson Delaware

The begining...........

Hutchinson Delaware was founded in 1710 by English settlers. The settlers who moved here were mostly wealthy bankers, businessmen, and investors from England looking to either expand their businesses. One of them being Jacob P. Stevens. he was successful in England with his financial group, but wanted to start a new layed-back lifestyle. Unfortuneatly his reputation of a dominant financial mogul followed him. His competitors followed him to get a piece of the colony expansion.

Corporation is king.................

From the founding of the city to present, Hutchinson continued to compete with northern cities such as New York, Boston, and Philadelphia. Corporations continued to pile in. In 1970 the corporate population began to crowd which altered some companies to relocate. It also meant the vertical option of expansion. In the last 27 years there has been a boom in skyscrapers. The development came with a price. While the city was so hypnotized by the cash flow, it overshadowed them that all the historic, old, art-deco buildings were being torn apart to make way for large boxes. To this day that feeling of guilt still looms over the city government as well as the citizens. In 1988 the historical society was formed to preserve what they could. To the cities misfortune, it became a realiztion that money can't buy histroy.

Today.................

$, $, $, and more $. Hutchinson has prospered greatly. The epi-center of the city is basically rows and rows of corporate and regional headquarters. Corporate bigwigs, moguls, and millionares are what control this city and keep the red arrow on the chart going up. The 200l Stock Market Crash spun the city into dismay for a few months. Not ever facing a financial crisis, the city was dis-oriented at first, but within 3 months it was as if nothing happened.

There is some history for now, and i will soon have some updates for you. Until then, here are a few facts:

Population: 2.2 million
Tallest Building: Global Trade Trust Company World Headquarters 100 floors
Richest man: Baron Wentworth, Owner and founder of Wentworth Financial,
estimated net-worth; 5.5 billion, Age: 55
Mayor: Peter Helsmley, 2nd term 2003-Present

Thats all for now.....................$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

Update

Here is the preview as promised: had no time for textures yet.

Basicly a look through the Bourne Bridge, viewing the W Hotel and a few other buildings.

I'll get some new updates in soon.

It's easy really, and there are plenty of stickied threads around the forum detailing how to post a picture:

First off, the link you tried posting as a picture was not a picture, it was a link to webpage that had the picture posted. Right click, 'properties,' ctrl+c the address of the picture, then ctrl+v that information between two [IMG] [/img] brackets.

Here is an Update:

This picture shows the Bourne Bridge. This is the only connector to the other side of the Hutchinson River. It was built to handle the corporate traffic in 1975, but has become overcrowded. Developments are in place for more bridges across the river.

This shot gives and entire overview of the city. Directly infront is the is the towering 77 floor Wentworth Financial World Headquarters Building. This was one of the first big wave corporate towers to enter the skyline. It was completed in 1980. To the right is the Long Lines Building, as well as the headquarters of the electric company "Consalidated Bell".

A closer areial look at the Wentworth Financial Building.

Here's a look at the other side of the river. The black and white building is the 75 floor Avon Building. Can you guess when it was built? Definetly in the 70's, 1978 to be exact. The circular building is the cities tallest at 100 floors. This is the World Headquarters of the Global Bank Trust Corporation. The shape of the building was made to match the name. There are 7 underground floors including parking, retail concourse, and station. This recent addition to the skyline was completed in 2004. It replaced a bunch of row houses dating back to the 1890's.

Thats all for now. I'll probably give an update on Sunday.

Yeah, I'm really busy lately, so you guys are going to have to settle for the un-textured version for now. Sorry about that.

Can someone add Hutchinson to the SSP map for me? Right in Delaware.
Thank you.

Please leave comments and suggestions. They help.

Wow, excellent start! You truly have some great designs in there, and as Dear Leader said, I can't wait to see textures! (But I understand if you're busy) I believe Patrick said he is working on a new map, so I'm sure he can add Hutchinson too. Great job!
