Winnipeg Goldeyes

Well, I saw the Toronto Raptors thread and if we're now going to be dumping region-specific off-topic niche threads into the Canada sub-forum instead of the local sub-forums where they belong, I figured I'd get in on the fun too!

So, the Goldeyes traded Luis Alen and resigned Rick Forney for another stint. Busy off season, but it has to be if they want to compete with St. Paul...

What do you mean, off-topic regional thread???? The Goldeyes are Canada's national unaffiliated sort-of-Double-A baseball team!

What's a "raptor"?

I just hope they finish ahead of the Laredo Lemurs. Those guys were jerks during the last pennant run.

What's a tasteful building in Winnipeg to buy in? Or should I start a new thread?

Or what are your cities in and out rates at your airports? Totally thread worthy.

Ha ha - was skiing at Lake Louise on friday. A tourist and his GF rode the gondola up with us (they were just sight seeing at the top). He was from Winnipeg. He was wearing a red baseball cap. It had a "angry" fish on it swinging a bat!

They must be Canada's team in whatever specific niche they play in!

WOAH WOAH WOAH everybody knows that the Vancouver Canadians are Canada's national minor league baseball team. I mean it's right there in the name -- Canadians!

No come on! The national minor league team is the Ottawa Champions, hailing from the national capital!

No old buildings visible (early "skyscrapers" from the Exchange District), is it because none are tall enough, or the view is not looking in the right direction?

I've been lobbying RDS for better Goldeyes coverage here in Quebec but to no avail!
