^ Great idea for a thread. This area has changed so much over the past 10 years, but mostly with smaller, under the radar new builds and renovations that kind of get lost in the shuffle. Centralizing them here will provide us with a clear indication of the full scope of activity in the area.

For what it's worth I think the WB area holds a tremendous amount of potential... continued development and improvement will not only help to create a thriving urban neighbourhood, but it will yield positive spinoffs for downtown too.

With the overlap between the Osborne Village area and the resurgence of this particular neighborhood, and it's unique urban identity, ie: Corydon Ave, Osborne Village, I believe it's time has finally come.

----------

I believe this particular proposal was already covered, 85-109 Maryland/Westminister.
4 Story, 44 residential Units, 44+- parking stalls, some covered, 5,6K sq. ft commercial at grade, 6 K sq. ft.of commercial space on 2nd floor. 3rd floor terrace over 2nd floor commercial space.

Proposal Applicant: 710 Westminster Ltd. – Leon Reimer
Architect on Record: Unit7 Architecture

Looking for a render but it is currently in cue before CC for rezoning.

EDIT: ^ I agree Esquire, the area holds a great deal of potential, it used to be quite the adventure in the early days, I really am enjoying it's renaissance so far.

Today's Murray M column (beware WFP paywall) has a rundown of three projects along Maryland, including a rendering of the one slated for the SE corner of Maryland and Westminster:

Apparently Stella's is taking advantage of the recent fire at the Sherbrook location and is going to be reopening with an expansion.

Apologies I don't have the details.
I kind of hope that's not the case though as I really like that little passageway.

The plan according to the sign on the door is to be open again in 3 months or so.

Given that time frame - I think the "expansion" will just be gaining more efficiency in the existing interior space - rather than a structural addition.

But how will people know where to park if there isn't a giant parking lot in FRONT of the building? Won't someone think of the children!

What's frustrating is that crappy Ikon condo down Portage is the same shape as this building, and could have just as easily hidden its parking. I hope everyone at city hall who approved that one was having a great time, because they must have been blind drunk to not see that the building was on its lot backwards.

Great news; let's hope for more of this. A redeveloped Sherbrook Inn would be nice.

Perhaps that tiny white building at Maryland and Sara will be next for redevelopment.

Really? It is nondescript, and looks vacant.
