The location of the IMEFA 52 tower marks an entrance to the city, and is especially visible because it stands on the banks of the Seine, in an open landscape which accentuates shapes and volumes.

Located on the banks of the Seine, in a direct line from Issy-Les-Moulineaux bridge, the IMEFA 52 tower is a landmark, a local reference point, as if it is steering the project to build the towers alongside it. While the tower is in itself a piece of drama, it is vital that, in Issy-Les-Moulineaux, this piece of drama remains a high point. The city is horizontal: it is on the ground that it fosters flows, ties and continuity. Anything that stands out against the horizon creates a marker or a scansion visible from a distance, and must create a bond, flexibility and harmony with the ground.

Right by a bridge and a subway station, makes sense to put a tower there. As for the tower, I like it. Except for the street-front, which seems very anti-urban.

Actually, this is a RER and tram station (Issy Val de Seine).
This skyscraper will replace an old office building built in the 1980's.

It looks rather bland and bulky to my eye, particularly given the towers it's downriver from. It'd have been a decent tower had they slimmed it down a bit and found some way to break up the monotony of the large glass facades.

mm, there I had posted some renders, but being honestly skeptical about the feasibility of this entire thing within the next years. How many projects and how many actual constructions for now? it's like 1 highrise project out of 5 is getting actually built. I'm not saying they'll necessarily be canceled, but long delays are quite expected.

Good news from pss-archi, legal appeals are cleared! Woah! It's been faster than I expected.
By the way, the associations that had lodged appeals would even have to pay for abusive legal procedures. Oh well, it's their fault, huh? That'll teach them once for good. Bloody NIMBYs...

So they'd be demolishing what still sits on the site. Remember, 3 office towers of heights somewhere in between 150 and 200m (500 and 650 ft) are scheduled there, like this sketch was showing.

This is the tallest skycraper planned in this cluster.
The construction permits have been delivered for this tower.

Building permits for this and Hélice would have been issued, I just read on SSC.
I had missed those bland renderings showing both towers side by side.



There's a 3rd office tower, IMA planned on the neighboring lot on which the salmon colored lowrise still sits. That should be demolished. Yet upstream of the river are the Microsoft Euro headquarters.

















Oh well, we'll see what it will turn into. Better than nothing, I guess. Construction is supposed to begin next year. Developers might foresee some more significant recovery of the office market yet.

Um, I'm sorry, I apologize but I have to quickly make that obversation to put some French forumers at ease, just in case they'd read this sometime, because I can remember I saw a couple of dumb comments from them that went like - OMG! If Issy builds some highrises, la Défense will have less! Issy's stealing some potential development from la Défense! No, that's not the way it works at all. Now you guys see how completely clueless too many French can be about economics basics, eh. It's really terrible, appalling and surely helped our nasty left wing to brainwash them. So I'll have to explain it that way. You know what they say about the time when the French socialists passed their 35-hour working week bill, don't you? They say the socialists claimed and swore that it would create tons of jobs from sharing working time between workers. Well, that's not what actually happened at all. Quite the opposite, their 35-hour working week bill ruined France's competitiveness and growth, thus tons of jobs from our private sector that does not benefit from tax payers money to survive, unlike most from the French left wing lobbies who're overly protected by our government. So development is just the very same as working time. It doesn't work like any elementary division to share anything at all, it's not that simple. It's rather like dynamics. The more you develop, the more you give rise to development all around. So these towers in Issy are no threat to la Défense, they're quite the opposite. They'll induce more development all over the metro area, including la Défense. Hell, I had to sweat this shit.
