this is such fantastic news i still can’t believe it.

a road diet and widening the sidewalks so humans can actually use them in that busy area?

and is that … * rubs eyes * … is that a bench???

Hopefully, no. The City needs to figure out how to get these people to use the bike lanes that already exists, and leave the sidwalks to pedestrians, and the auto lanes to traffic. And also, to generally follow the rules of the road.

This is going to look INCREDIBLE!

They should extend it all the way to the Washington Square Arch.

Also, they should do the same thing on 6th, Madison, and Lex ASAP, and on other avenues thereafter.

This is such a huge improvement.

I would eventually extend this all the way down to 14th Street, or maybe even to the end at Washington Square Park.

I'd also consider replacing the flex lane with a full bus lane. Fifth Ave. likely needs two bus lanes.
