Pandemic terminology

For posterity and as we continue along this pandemic journey, it would be good to document some phrases that have become commonly or in some cases excessively used. Here are a couple:

We are all in this together.

All COVID 19 safety protocols are in effect.

Please add others that you can think of.

It's been said many times, the point of wearing mask isn't to prevent you from getting it, it's to prevent you from spreading it to other people. The more people that wear masks the less chance of a transmission.

Spreading irrational fear doesn't count.

Austria had a 90% drop in transmission after mandating masks. Japan and South Korea are barely affected by Covid 19 because of their mask culture. This isn't a political issue, it's simply fact based, but people are still making it political. As someone with an incurable form of lymphoma I am VERY excited about mandatory indoor mask laws that are coming to our region so that maybe, just maybe, I can buy groceries AND raise my 4 year old daughter to adulthood. That would be nice.

I'm looking forward to mandatory mask policy and I hope enforcement is vigorous.

This thread is a perfect example of why a mandatory law is necessary. While the majority of people can see that the evidence in favour of masks is overwhelming, and accept that they have some level of responsibility to those around them, there are always a select few who think they know better because some crank they met on the internet showed them the light. No amount of reason, no matter how compelling, is going to convince them otherwise. So we need a law to force those people to do what they should have figured out on their own. The sooner the better.

Your statement indicates why you should never 'run' for political office, but you should run away to gather evidence before you make a statement:

That's outdated info. The main reason masks were discouraged was due to the shortage. Health officials wanted to prioritize health care workers.

Tendency to touch your face more often was another reason, but people do that anyway (if slightly less without). Fact is though, if everyone wears a mask, the spread will be slowed down, even if people touch their faces a little more than usual. And with the face forming cloth masks available, the masks do not need to be adjusted as much. Just have to find the right one.
