Spent today, another Fall beauty, hiking about the old Lair Hill neighborhood which lies just south of downtown. Back in the 60's, my era, this was the center of the counter culture/hippie movement in Portland - our own little Haight Ashbury. Most of the houses have been restored or at least painted and the area in general looks great. As you can tell I can't get enough of the Victorian cottages.
Love the neighborhood, but I'm not drawn there often since there aren't many places to hang out. Are there any bars/restaurants besides lair hill bistro (which closes at 5 or 6)?
Awesome, awesome, awesome. It's so much fun to see the city through someone else's eyes, and you do a marvelous job of capturing its magic. Thanks for sharing!
