What phrase would describe your city's urbanness

I live in London and after careful deliberation I've got it.

"London, the overflow parking of Ontario".

Current city: "Look, we have a cutesy Potemkin-village style downtown you can drive to. And then go back to your home in the suburbs."

Hometown growing up:

1. Here's the bombed out remains of what was once an urban downtown after a couple of whacks at screwing up redevelopment in the '80s and '90s (yay Eatons!).
2. We put some government offices here (even though everybody really wants to work in a office park in the suburbs) so it's not a complete corpse, just a shambling one.
3. Avoid the spot where the bus terminal, LCBO and Tim Hortons were put all in one place by some genius municipal planner, unless you're big into that urban despair tourism bit.

I was guessing Sudbury with the bus station, but I didn't know it had an LCBO too.

Sudbury's experience is why Thunder Bay had to keep its downtown bus terminal a few blocks away from our new courthouse.
