CLAYTON | Centene Tower II | 419 FEET | 28 FLOORS

Centene Corporation is a top-tier Medicaid managed care company currently with about $16-billion in revenues. The firm has about 2,000 employees in St. Louis - including a service center it recently opened in suburban Ferguson.

Recently, Centene has agreed to purchase HealthNet for about $6.8-billion.

Centene plans 20-story building in Clayton

Anyone who pays attention to the St. Louis office market knows that Centene Corp. plans to build a second building in downtown Clayton.

The company isn't talking publicly about the office project even though demolition is underway of the existing buildings on the site at Forsyth Boulevard and South Hanley Road.

But some solid information about the project got out Tuesday at the annual SIOR Metro Market Forecast at the Ritz-Carlton, in Clayton.

Jim Mosby, executive managing director at Cushman & Wakefield in Clayton, told the crowd at the breakfast event that Centene is planning a 20-story, 500,000-square-foot building across Hanley from its 17-story headquarters, which opened in 2010.

Mosby said the building is expected to be completed in early 2019.

Clayton-based Centene is the nation's largest Medicaid managed care provider as a result of its $6.8 billion acquisition of Health Net Inc., of Woodland Hills, Calif.

In 2015, Centene grew to a $22-billion company.

The company plans to create and consolidate as many as 2,000 jobs in downtown Clayton.

The 28-story, 600,000sf building with 750 parking spaces, is part of an overall phased $772-million project slated for downtown Clayton.

We now have steel rising above the construction fence!

In less exciting news, plans were submitted to the city of Clayton for the pedestrian sky bridge connecting Centene tower 1 with Centene Tower 2.

Help. Why does the picture above post so large? This is the only forum I have trouble with sizing.

Edit-I found another way to do it.
