Scarborough City Centre Construction continues. New Pics

Here are some pics I took the other day of some of the construction going on in the Scarborough City Centre.
There are other buildings going up across Scarborough, and I hope to go get photos of those soon.

Enjoy a quick look at the changes in Scarborough City Centre.

The renovated Scarborough Town Centre

Thanks for the update, Mike.

The quality of architecture isn't so great but growth around STC has been steady throughout recent years. I was intrigued by Henderson Development's (one of Hong Kong's largest developers) entry into the Toronto market with their "Centro" project a few years ago. I thought that this was a minor project to test the market before anything big, which was a possibility as they would be capable of planning a Cityplace type mega project. But now that a few years has passed, and nothing has followed I guess they're not so serious about continuing in the Toronto condo market anymore. Their website also seems empty and outdated.

Not much construction happening in Scarborough.
"The city’s official plan designates four other development hubs. Three of them—Etobicoke Centre, North York Centre and Yonge-Eglinton Centre—have roughly 5,000 housing units each in the planning and development stages. City hall hasn’t received an application to build even a single residential unit in the fourth hub, Scarborough Centre, in over four years."
...
"So while Toronto’s downtown is getting beamed gloriously into the 21st century, the inner suburbs are living a true-life version of Groundhog Day: every morning people there wake up and it’s still 1991. In many cases, the only new commercial development these neighbourhoods have to show for the last decade of prosperity is big retail boxes and the low-wage jobs within them."

The towers there look pretty nice, yet it's a fair distance from any big tourist spot. Atleast a subway runs there, soon enough, eventually develoment will restart.

Looks like development is slowly picking up in the area around Woburn. I believe Scarborough's first Christian retirement condo just opened up nearby. Expecting a lot of the Trinity Ravine residents to visit the renovated mall.

There are two large development projects brewing right now, both of which have popped up in the last year since the subway was announced.
