Quick question, is it continuously developed between Baltimore and DC?

Finally, finally, finally!

I've been searching and searching these Baltimore threads for a picture of my alma mater, Johns Hopkins, and finally I found one:

That Georgian tower has got to be Gilman Hall and even though it has been 40 years, I think this was taken from one of the apartment buildings on University Parkway.

Thanks. I'll be making a trip there in December just to see what they've done to the place after all these years.

Baltimore is a very historic place and also an instructive one. It probably owes its renaissance to being on the I-95 corridor, sandwiched between Washington and Philadelphia. Otherwise, it has a lot in common with places like Pittsburgh and Detroit: once very ethnic, very blue collar, very industrial--a great port city. But as its industries like Bethlehem Steel and Chevrolet have dried up, it seems to be successfully reinventing itself and that's great. I hope, though, that it preserves just a bit of its erstwhile ethnic flavor--things like the Lexington and North Avenue Markets. I haven't been back in years but I'm guessing the "arabs" (a local name for a person selling vegetables from horse-drawn wagons that I remember seeing as late as the early 1960s) are gone, though.

Baltimore is a great city... It has potential to be a lot better, though.

Great pics.
