Hey folks. I've lurked for years but was trying to force my work down different avenues. I've finally landed a job in print production which requires a lot of graphic design and as much as I'd love being an animator, I can win bread with type, graphics and design.
It's come home to roost for me that this kind of place is where I belong more so than ConceptArt or any of the ToonBoomStudio forums. Lemme show you some of what I've been working on:
This image was based off of a LEGO MOC somebody sold on EBAY. I grabbed the ref off of Pinterest and cracked this boy out
Also, I whipped together a forum icon that's going to get more attention when I have some more time
I need to get better at my materials but I am scrutinizing some of the positively stunning images already uploaded here. In fact, I've used a couple to create scale voxel buildings that can appear in a game called Staxel. Here's one of the Wells Fargo Tower from downtown Portland OR that I rebuilt in 3D to test my methods
Rebuilding the color palette for this thing was one week worth of effort alone but worth it! The tower is 4X taller than the player character and worth all the in-game cash you'll need to buy it's pieces.
Also, the LEGO MOC made a lovely building for MagicaVoxel rendering
I believe now that with refinement and dedication I can contribute to the site and produce really nice artwork in it's own right. I want to begin practicing now and see where I end up this time next year. Happy New Year to all and lets get to work making awesome building art!
