They have revised the zoning application and updated the city planning webpage.

Funny that they have to re-zone for automotive, when it was only 10 years ago that there was a long term used car lot on that very site lol.

Anyway, that's a pretty large dealership building in those plans. I wonder who is planning to go into that space? I can only imagine one of the "Golden Auto Mile" dealerships is looking to move into bigger space (since what nameplate isn't already along there?). I can only really think of Courtesy Ford as being so cramped for space that they would relocate and it would also need to be a big brand looking at space like that.

City planning staff is recommending that Council approve the zoning changes that would allow for a dealership on this site.

Goes to Council's Planning and Environment committee on September 18th.

Renderings on pg. 5 show that it is proposed to be a Tesla dealership.

Interesting, that answers my last question (the who). Much bigger, and a much better location, than their prior plan at the old Porsche dealership at Oxford and Wonderland.

And matches Telsa's new direction to have dealerships rather then just sales offices going forward.

Should make the local Telsa owners very happy to have something closer then KW.

CTV article on the proposed zoning that will include a Telsa sales and service centre. PEC approved it and next up is full council. If approved construction is expect to start next spring and open in 2025.

Alot of heavy equipment still working on the storm sewer installations. They have started pouring the foundation footings in the SE corner of the property which is a good sign that the commercial buildings are under way.

That would be for the Tesla site I believe, which makes sense it would be built first.

Looks like they have got the pad B foundation footings and walls poured now. Should see the under slab utilities being installed next with the structural steel posts soon as well.
