Also the site of the Afzaal family murder. The city has already talked about a memorial to them, so I imagine that will come up in the discussion of this property.

Zedd Architectures posted on their Instagram account a couple days ago that they recently applied for a building permit and that construction will start soon for this development.

And just to update this thread, Council already granted the zoning change.

Nice building. Would have been even better at 6s but then the cost would have been much higher as they would have needed underground parking or a two tier parking garage. 86 surface parking spots for 74 units was probably the sweet spot for whoever this developer is in terms of budget. Now we will see if they can get a shovel in the ground.

Good progress on this project with the west wing foundation and footing walls now poured. Looks like prep for the foundation on the remainder is under way. Hyde Construction out of Stratford appears to be the general contractor with Middlesex Concrete forming handling the concrete work.

Have now poured the NE corner ground floor slab and are using a mix of formed concrete and concrete blocks for the ground floor elevator/stairwell shaft walls.

Have now got most of the steel modular wall units installed for the ground floor. Will be interesting to see if they go with precast concrete floor slabs or flooring system and a poured slab for the 2nd floor slab.

They went with precast concrete floor slabs and have now installed all the 2nd floor slabs. Are building the 2nd floor walls for the elevator stairwell shaft using concrete blocks. Should see them installing the 2nd floor steel modular wall panels in the next few weeks.

Wrapping up the 3rd floor modular steel wall panel installs. Have also started installing the window units on the ground floor level. Would not be surprised to see some of the 4th floor precast concrete floor slabs being installed on the west wing by end of this week.

I'm impressed with how quickly this project is moving, although maybe it just seems that way because the buildings across the street are taking forever.

The 4th floor steel modular wall panels are now being installed on the west wing. Have most of the windows and balcony door modules now installed up to the 3rd floor as well. Would not be surprised to see some of the roof precast concrete slabs being installed next week.
