Boise will get there. We have 3 "skyscraper" proposals for downtown in addition to this one across the river in Garden City. Being one of the fastest growing cities in the nation will hopefully increase the tower proposals in downtown.
Our fellow American cities in Canada always seem to out do similar sized cities in the USA regarding their skylines.
Where Boise shines, is the density in downtown, which has increased over the years with all of the new low/mid rise developments built, currently under construction and in the pipeline. Downtown is urban for a midsize city with the small, walkable blocks and vibrant street level engagement with retail and restaurants, etc.
Here's a photo from a few years ago I shot from Table Rock. Some of our towers are hidden from this angle, but it shows the density of downtown.
