AUSTIN | ATX Tower (325 West 6th) | 675 FT | 58 FLOORS

Tower to be built at 321 W 6th St. on an existing BBVA drive-thru bank and Maiko Sushi Lounge. This would be Austin's second tallest tower, after the U/C 6th X Guadalupe. I've seen some height estimates between 750' and 770'.

Levels 1-11 = Parking with ground floor retail
Levels 12-17 = Offices
Levels 18-19 = Amenities
Levels 20-60 = Apartments

It's a boring tower, but it's nice to see Austin growing so much.

BBVA USA takes part in new multi-use tower in downtown Austin

19 Dec 2019
Alejandro Ortiz

Ryan Companies will develop and build the 770’ project, which will be the second largest office, multi-use tower currently planned in the CBD. Comprised of 60 floors, the top floor will include a 3,000 square feet amenity clubhouse. The lower clubhouse levels will include a pool deck, indoor/outdoor fitness, gathering and meeting spaces, listening room, media room, pet park and locker-room facilities.

Levels 20-60 will be home to approximately 363 units of residential comprising of 75% studio and one-bedroom apartments and the remaining 25% are proposed two and three bedrooms. Levels 18-19 will feature a fitness and pool amenity area and levels 12-17 will be comprised of 120,000 square feet of class A office space. The remaining levels will be dedicated to parking and retail with a large percentage of the ground floor dedicated to a uniquely-designed BBVA lobby that reflects the company’s focus on digital transformation in banking.

The project will total 530,371 square feet. The architect on the project will be Page and civil design will be conducted by Kimley-Horn. CBRE was the advisor to BBVA on this project. Ryan Companies expects to bring their plans in front of the city council in mid-to-late December.

Azul Photoshopped 6 X Guadalupe into the BBVA Tower rendering.

This is pretty much how they'll appear together. 6 X Guadalupe will be 848 feet with 65 floors, and BBVA Tower, which sits one block closer to the camera here, will be 770 feet with 60 floors.

Looks like a spiritual twin of Edmonton's Stantec further confirming my suspicions that Edmonton and Austin are the versions of each other...

I like the building. I still marvel at Austin and its downtown growth. When I moved to Texas in 94 it was fairly sleepy and the downtown skyline was small. Its been nothing short of remarkable. I watched it happen to Miami during that time period too, but Miami already had a decent skyline.

Yes! But I do feel that Nashville is one bend in the road away from this same moment for them

Fingers crossed! Regardless, I think 2020 is shaping up to be a great year in development for both cities!

Happy New Years Austinites!

The site plan was posted today to the AULCC page. The elevations show it as 770 feet 6 inches, but it drops down maybe another foot below the zero line at grade. I don't have a way of measuring that distance since there's no other height to compare it to, so unless someone has a way of measuring it with a PDF reader, we'll just have to go with this height. I know there's a way to do it, and I've tried, but I wasn't having any luck with it.

One thing, though, in the project details box, it lists the height as 792 feet 6 inches. I'm not sure what the reason for that is.

It's likely BBVA has backed out after merging with PNC.

Ryan Cos. adds co-developer for proposed skyscraper

Quote:
Ryan Companies US Inc. is bringing on Tishman Speyer Properties LP — a New York-based real estate firm with a huge portfolio that includes iconic Big Apple buildings such as the Rockefeller Center and 200 Park Avenue — to develop a 58-story mixed-use tower in downtown Austin.

321 West, as the project is called, will include about 140,000 square feet of office space across seven floors, according to Ryan and Tishman Speyer. The remainder of the building at 321 W. Sixth St. will feature 370 residential units totaling 300,000 square feet and ground-floor retail.

Residential units will occupy floors 21 through 56 and feature studio, one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments.

There will be 15,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor amenities, including a pool, fitness studio, co-working areas, game room, roof-deck lounge and pet areas. Construction is slated to start in late 2021.

Nice, got a bit of a height cut though it seems (unless floor heights increased)

It's great this'll be right next to 6 X Guadalupe
