Jackson Meadows by Drewlo - apartments, townhouses, houses

If you have been out in the Commissioners and Jackson area lately, you'll notice that construction is starting on a new subdivision east of Summerside / Jackson Road. The roads have been paved for the first phase, and some model homes have been constructed recently

Drewlo is calling this "Jackson Meadows" , and it is it is bounded by Jackson, Commissioners and Bradley. It will contain a mixture of houses, townhouses, and apartment buildings. https://www.drewloholdings.com/new-h...ackson-meadows

An older land use concept plan can be found on page 9 of this link: https://pub-london.escribemeetings.c...cumentId=34286

-----

Drewlo recently submitted a zoning application for the medium density block at the northwest corner of the subdivision (right at Commissioners and Jackson) and it is for two 6-storey apartment buildings, one 5-storey apartment building, and 72 townhouse units.

Planning application notice: https://london.ca/sites/default/file...inedNotice.pdf

Site plan:

Rendering of one of the buildings. It is pretty much identical to the buildings currently under construction further south on Bradley in Summerside:

Looks like Drewlo is saving alot of money by re-using the same architect plans they have from their EdgeValley and Chelton sites for this phase.

City planning staff is recommending that Council approve the zoning changes that would allow for the proposed apartment buildings and townhouses at the NW corner of the subdivision.

This goes to Council's Planning and Environment committee on March 19th, then to Council on April 2nd.

https://pub-london.escribemeetings.c...umentId=109170

Update: Council approved the zoning changes for this.

1944 Bradley Avenue - draft subdivsion plan

This is land immediately east of the large block of land being developed by Drewlo/Ironstone east of Jackson Rd and between Commissioners and Bradley. The road connections will be via Drewlo's new subdivision with extensions of that road network.

A residential subdivision consisting of single
detached dwellings, cluster townhouses,
street townhouses, parkland, and open
space.

This proposed subdivision will be discussed at the June 11th planning committee meeting, then at the June 25th council meeting.

Saw some ads on social media today from Ironstone/Drewlo promoting the new Jackson Meadows subdivision, along with some construction photos. The ads were mainly promoting their first townhouse development, called Kai.

Drewlo has always done this. My company used to work for them for a while, back when Mr. Drewlo himself was alive and still roaming his buildings at 3 in the morning. A large majority of them, if you haven't noticed, all have the same shape and size and follow the same floor plans. Even their exteriors are the same, you can tell in places like Wonderland and Oxford where they have that massive apartment complex. Those homestead buildings were theirs at one point too, and they sold them, but you can just tell by the designs they were Drewlo originals.

Now with Mr. Drewlo's son taking over, you see a ton more of them building actual subdivisions and such. The son owned Ironstone and then took over Drewlo as well once his Dad passed.
