Amazing shots, especially the aerials and from the Masonic monument!

The infill of the potomac railyards looks like its nearing completion.

Good photos. The new rowhouse neighborhood near the railroad tracks is impressive.

^^ That area near the train tracks will eventually be within walking distance of a new infill station on Metro's Yellow & Blue lines.

Two contenders remain for site of Potomac Yard Metro station

Yes, finally. They'll eventually replace the horrible Potomac Yards Shopping Center with a street grid and mixed-use buildings (up to 250').

Nicely done. I was in Alexandria and DC last fall....found it very difficult to photograph. You took some killer shots from the plane.

o.k., i'm glad i'm not the only one who found it difficult to photograph; not in a bad way, i just thought it was jet lag and a weird work schedule that only allowed time for taking photos in the evening while meeting up with co-workers.

Nice pictures. I love places like Old Town Alexandria. Old Town is a lot like places like Annapolis MD, New Castle DE, and even some New England places like Newport RI.

Nice thread. I really like the old parts of Alexandria. I would guess most people in this country don't even know they exist and think it is just a suburb of DC.

There's also a brand new BRT line running through the new rowhouse neighborhood.
