GO WEST, young lesbians!
This past weekend I drove 1,920 km (1,193 miles) to the west coast of Newfoundland, did lots of running around out there, and back again to St. John's. It was spectacular.
Along the way, I visited
Corner Brook - the main focus of this thread.
It's Newfoundland's fourth city, and the only one that isn't a part of the capital city region. A company town of around 25,000 people, it is by far the largest community on the island outside of the St. John's Metro.
Being such a fantastic distance from our main population base on the Avalon Peninsula means it offers a little more than most municipalities of its size in our little corner of the world.
The reason for my excursion around the bay was to attend a wedding. My friends Sarah and Erica finally tied the knot - at Erica's grandfather's cottage in a small farming community near the west coast. It was a wonderful occasion.
Excluding my trip to Boston a couple of years ago, this is the furthest I've ventured yet for an SSP photo thread. Hope you enjoy this glimpse at the beauty of the west coast and the people who live there.
