Middleburg is a borough in central Pennsylvania, and is the seat of Snyder County. The population is around 1,350. Middleburg was originally called "Swinefordstown" or "Swinefordstettle" ater John Albright Swineford, but was renamed "Middleburg" after Middle Creek, which runs by the town. Today, the stream is also know as Middlecreek Creek. The borough was established in 1855.
