yes, tdawg is correct, you can take pictures of everything in the permanent collection, but not special exhibitions. I hope no one had their hopes up for seeing more of Cindy Sherman. I'm not really much of a fan. I admit that initially her images are provocative and arresting (in large part simply because of their sheer size!), but after a while it all seems rather gimmicky. I guess it hasn't hurt her from becoming a big (and rich) art world star, like others that go back to the 80's art boom, like Jeff Koons (the basketballs in the aquarium--oops, I mean
equilibrium tank sculpture--don't get me started!!)
btw--a version of Warhol's "Double Elvis" sold the other night for $37M at Sotheby's, but I noticed that unlike the MoMA's, the left Elvis is barely visible. I wonder if it was discounted
