Cool AUSTIN | 6th & Rio Grande (701 W. 6th) | 752 FEET | 66 FLOORS

Quote:
The 53-floor apartment tower planned for the quarter-block at the southwest corner of West Sixth and Rio Grande Streetby developers Kairoi Residential might not break ground for a while — if you weren’t aware, Kairoi is currently busy building the tallest tower in Austin while simultaneously planning to build the tallest tower in Texas.

This project came back to life. The original site plan expired, and a new one was filed in late 2023. It's up for its required Density Bonus at today's (09/23) Design Commission meeting. The first renderings were released as part of the meeting presentation. The height was significantly increased from 610' and 53-stories to 751' and 66-stories. The developer Kairoi is also the developer of the residential components of Austin's two tallest projects - the 1,022' Waterline and 874' Sixth & Guadalupe.
