The second one is most like an arena, and it is my favorite of the four. I don't like the fourth so much. Is it supposed to resemble a big rock?

Number two is my personal favorite out of all of them. Number four is a little out there for my liking.

Yeah, #2 is the best. I like number 4, it would create an artificial environment and I like the shape. Number 1 would be better for a performing arts center with a condo tower but not good for an arena.

All amazing!

I'd say 1 is ny definante favorite, embracing the 21st century with its new late-moderist design. Although I'd say number 4 is my least favorite, I'm just not into this whole organic design.

I love #1, and I like #4, but not it's location/position in the skyline... Edmonton's skyline from the North has always looked great because the buildings look so damn thin due to their N-S orientation and both the Stationlands Towers and the #4 design would ruin this, IMHO... If it were built around Commonwealth or Rexall I think that would look really wicked though...

I like #2.

Is there some design contest for the new Edmonton downtown arena, or is this just some of your just-for-fun work?

I really like the designs of all of them, I just think the second adds a nice modern touch to Edmonton's 60s-80s architecture, without going over the top.

I'm David Staples, a reporter with the Journal, and I'm doing a story on how the new downtown arena concept is inspiring people. I'd like to talk to some of you, and to see any drawings you've done of concepts, and find out what you think is a must for this project. Give me a call at 780 498 5829 or email me at dstaples@thejournal.canwest.com
