I done-diddly told y'all it was only two levels a few months ago. This version I think includes a more squat crown with fewer pillars too right?

Not this (which is much nicer imo):

Ugh, again, hate the burnt orange and white. I wonder if that was truly on purpose.

The designers definitely left a lot on the table with this one; from this-trend-won't-age-well cringe-inducing angled exposed beams, to the "Bellagio hotel effect" of the upper section "two floors per brick." (Why build supertall if you're going to employ visual effects to minimize that?)

Maybe the final product will change my mind. Still glad its being built though.

My feelings as well--we shall see. The crown and final color scheme will make or break this for Austin. It's a wild gamble considering it'll be the tallest and command so much attention.

I don't think the color scheme is that bad. While no means perfect, its definitely better than just a plain boring blue glass.

One thing that I have noticed a little is now that the angle of the sun is getting lower, with the way the tower angles, from the board walk, the tower looks pretty stunning and while some may not like to hear this, has a bluish reflective look to it. Looking at it from Congress with the sun directly hitting, the windows look dark so the glass does have some neat reflection features.

Normally I'd agree, but in person it just looks cheap af with the white and burnt orange. This tower would look much better if they just swapped the orange with a light grey or even mint green.

Its the white that makes it look cheap, not the orange. Swap the white with black and you’ve got a winner.
