While I don't consider this as Metro Center (since it's across the highway and around a 1 mile walk), it would be good to see some multifamily residential pop-up along Dunlap. Hopefully, there will be more to come. I think the area has potential for some really good redevelopment.

On a side note, I was across I-17 just yesterday and the apartment complex about a block North of Dunlap on 29th Ave next to the Goodwill is coming along nicely. Hopefully, this helps to kick-start some density in the area. Along with the Metro Center redevelopment, this could really turn the area around.

There's been several developments proposed for the former "cat house" lot, but I don't recall seeing this version. I kinda like these style of residential developments popping up around the core.

That lot is probably one of the worst in phoenix for what they're proposing.

Linking this to the thread about South Central light rail, this project is a good example of development along the new route. It's going to be more intensive at first near the north end of the new extension and will be more gradual south of the Rio Salado.

They're cranking on this. It is 3/4 of the way Framed up. It will be an interesting addition to the Neighborhood.

Thanks for the update. I saw that when I was checking out the South Central LR construction last week and I forgot to look this up. FWIW, there are a few other projects in the works in the adjacent area. Looks like the South Central extension is already causing some development to happen.

They're not my cup of Tea, but its nice to see some development south of the tracks.

Yea, neither do I.

I do currently rent a wood-framed condo. I have to say it's the noisiest place I have ever lived in. I can hear everything the neighbors say, every thump on the floor, every creak, every car driving buy, etc. Fortunately, it's still somewhat cheap, so I tolerate it.

But I would NEVER buy into a wood condo. On that note, I wonder how Edison phase 2 is selling?

I made that mistake with my starter home, which was a wood-framed condo. The first few years we had a noisy neighbor, and it was hell. By the time better people moved in, we were ready for a house and were fortunately able to sell the condo at a decent price.

Ancient Proverb say, "When buying wood framed condo at least buy on top floor to minimize noise and not have to endure people "tap dancing" on your head from above your ceiling or bowling or whatever the heck they do up there all night".
