The CMPD along with local and state officials have done an amazing job when compared to other cities with comparable size and demographics. I feel Charlotte is a rare case where both parties work toward the common good of the people and the city as a whole.

It’s sort of irrelevant to mention cities of similar size.

San Francisco is similar in population to Charlotte at 46 Sq Miles of a population 18,000 people per sq. Mile vs Charlotte at a density of 2,834 people per Sq. mile within 308 Sq. Miles.

It’s apples and oranges when one area has pristine suburbs and the other is urban only. It sort of skews the actual crime statistics faced within the core of the city where most of the crime occurs. I assume the levels of crime would sky rocket if you shrink the city limits to say 150 sq miles, on paper.

It’s best to be sober about reality. Once it becomes apparent crime is starting to have negative consequences, it’s probably at least a couple years to reverse (the whole studies, studies of studies, new task force, community forums, resources allocates, new programs, etc.) Once something negative becomes apparent, it’s like turning the titanic. Though maybe the other poster is blowing it out of proportion, but in general. Once anything is noticeably negative…it means politicians had years of failing their constituents.)

Queensbridge

Queensbridge - Looking south from the Legacy Union parking deck. I counted approximately 19 floors completed of 40 total.

Nice update. The bldg almost completely obscures the ol' Pepto Bismol condo building from this view now.
