Interesting Facts/Records: The Charlottetown Thermal Generating Station is / was a Charlottetown landmark visible city-wide. The site was decommissioned in December of 2021 after the site no longer served any purpose after 2 new cables were built to the mainland in 2017. Demolition of the plant began in late 2023. While compared to other cities this site may seem small, the two chimneys connected to the station below were easily the one of the most recognisable landmarks in Charlottetown due to its height compared to the surrounding area.
