This sucker looks like more than 3000 feet based on the height of Petronas...

The article is from 2020, I don't think this project is going anywhere.

They've been working on the mall this entire time. That work included initial construction on several megacolumns for the tower.

The link posted above says 700 meters, which is around 2300 ft, but also that rendering is from a low perspective with Petronas behind it.

What is the purpose of all these crazy tall buildings in KL? Pure vanity? Ego? Money laundering? I mean, the GDP for the entire country is only about 1% greater than the GDP of Harris County, where Houston is.

Disclosure: My parents lived in KL in the late 70s and I went there twice. The second time I spent a couple of months there.

Certainly they won’t all happen. But a few might.
Is there anyone in KL who can tell us which ones show any signs of construction?

CTBUH still lists the status as "vision", not even "proposed" let alone "construction":

Someone needs to remove this from being listed as under construction

GDP comparisons are meaningless unless PPP is factored in. KL absolutely destroys Houston on skyscrapers and mass transit.

Yea, I think the mall and adjacent complex are U/C. Not sure about the 2K foot tower.

I could be wrong though.
