West Broadway Commons (533 Broadway) is 110 units and 12 stories tall. Thinking this one will be about the same size.

It will be a major building boom for a slow-growth city on the Canadian Prairies. It won't be much compared to the building boom in Vancouver over the past 10 years but it will make many Winnipeggers happy nonetheless.

ill be ecstatic if we see another 35 floor + tower go up in the next 10 years. I was at garbage hill today admiring the skyline and theres a few gaps that id love to see filled, even with some smaller projects. i know it might be a pipe dream but I'm obsessed with the idea of a taller peak happening one day

I know of a 110 unit tower that will be announced in the next few months.
I’ve heard the Windsor Hotel project is moving forward.
Please tell me is either the slice attached to the Pantages or the one on James Ave.

I have not heard what might occur on the former Windsor Hotel Site.
Is it possible to get an idea of what might happen?
I am assuming residential but how much, # of units, # of potential floors? Thanks

Using the projects I listed on the previous page, I count 2113 residential units that are either planned or under-construction downtown.

Adding to that is the additional info we received from TrueViking:
-The Bay Redevelopment will be about 400 units instead of 300 (+100 units).
-Phase 1 of Forks Railside will be about 365 units (+365 units).
-Marketlands North will be about 240 units instead of 128 (+112 units).
-New tower containing 110 units that has not been announced yet (+110 units).
-Total of 687 additional units.

Therefore, that brings the total number of residential units downtown that are either under-construction or in-planning to 2800.

This is in additional to the 310 residential units recently completed that I listed on the previous page. So in total we are looking at around 3000 units. If we say 2 people per unit, that an additional 6000 people living downtown. As far as I understand, the current number of people living downtown is about 18,000. So that would be about a 25% increase in the downtown population in about the next 5 years.

I wonder if 634 Portage Ave will manifest in this upcoming boom period to add to the pile.

I have a feeling that project is dead. Looks like Private Pension Partners has taken it off their website.

The good news is that it's a vacant lot and the property is owned by an active developer. Hopefully they will put the lot up for sale if they aren't going forward with developing it.

What's happening with that highrise apartment block that was proposed for the St Regis site?

If downtown pops off with all these announced projects and the population jumps up, I imagine these developer owned lots will follow somewhat close behind.
