Well today,It looks a like Delta/ Skywest CRJ 900 scheduled 1 passenger flight ✈️ today between Minneapolis MSP-Edmonton YEG - MSP Wednesday June 12 2024. 1st time Delta CRJ plane has landed/taken off since early 2020.

Maybe 🤔 they’re testing yeg out again for a possible Winter 2024 return for flights on this route?

Delta 8948 flight ✈️ from Fort Lauderdale FLL to Edmonton YEG a Boeing 757-200 plane carrying the NHL Florida Panthers hockey team. It was delayed 3hrs and 21 minutes departing FLL due to weather & landed around 8pm Edmonton Time.

Perhaps the gods are on our side.

Maybe this explains the WJ reductions, 1x daily from each airline and DL's return would be sweet.

If Delta returns to the route then I’d say WS will drop it. I can’t think of one route WS/Delta both fly. They usually just code share on each others planes.

I don't think this was more than a special flight for whatever reason.

WS seems content with the MSP and ATL expansion at least for the time being.

YEG can absorb more trans-border/international capacity hopefully in due time. but definitely EIA needs to think beyond WS. yesterday, I got off my flight from YLW and picked up my luggage at the same belt as a YYC flight. Almost every bag from YYC was a connection from some place (a bunch of WS 5, WS 7).

AA looking at YEG-DFW on A319 6x weekly for next summer. This is purely a rumour, but it's from a very strong AA contact who correctly predicted the launch of YYC-CLT well before it was officially announced so... fingers crossed.

DFW would be great for their hub and watching the Oilers beat the Stars again:p

DFW would be a big win. AA seems to do daily doubles from YYC so maybe they are seeing connecting numbers from YEG to justify this.

Last AA DFW service was early 2016, as I recall.

I still think if UA relaunches IAH, that'll keep AA out... both would be ideal but YEG needs at least one.

100% need one. Would love to see American metal but IAH on United probably has advantages with any folks local to Edmonton loyal to star alliance.

Huge. Good move for AA to try it out again and maybe build up their brand here a bit before UA comes back with Houston eventually.

Yeah that's what I was thinking too.

If AA came out of nowhere and did something aggressive like simultaneously launch YEG-DFW and YEG-ORD, they could really do some damage.

Chicago and Los Angeles on American Eagle would be interesting.

This is kind of an interesting yet weird code share agreement between Condor and WestJet.

I'm not sure how many people would backtrack to MCO from FRA via YEG or YYC. Condor flies to all of the destinations of SFO, LAX, LAS and PHX anyways except MCO. I'm also not sure if anyone will use YEG's 2x weekly seasonal flight from FRA on Condor to connect to the US but you never know I guess.
