From the Atlanta Business Chronicle: $160M mixed-income tower pitched for Underground Atlanta

Would have 405 units, with the developer seeking tax exempt bonds to include 163 affordable units with Invest Atlanta funding. About 29/30 stories. Located on Wall street between Peachtree and Pryor. Site is currently a one story building and small plaza. Aiming for 2027 completion.

Mixed feelings about this one. Seems like it would be nicer to knock out the hideous green building and parking deck across the street, or the one-level parking deck across the other street, or the assemblage of parking lots across the street from that, than to take out what should in theory be a public gathering space.

The Underground tower is great news. We need residents downtown.

Understood, but that green deck is shared parking for many surrounding buildings, including The Metropolitan and the William Oliver, 2 Peachtree, etc. I'd rather have it centralized in a public deck like that, rather than the Midtown model of parking podiums. Besides, the plans call to screen it with a new multi-family building on Peachtree Street.

This would still leave almost all of the plaza, the footprint is very small.

Interesting and HUGE plans (figuratively and literally) for the GP building that would sorta remake the inner core of downtown.

Proposed base is a massive improvement over the current shed and blank wall.
