Happy New Year everyone. Here are a few shots from walking around town on this cold, crisp start to the new decade.

180 E Water St.

I'm diggin' the new alley that is created with this building.

The changing cityscape of Kzoo

There is a new bar that just opened across Arcadia Festival Place from 180 E Water St. It is kind of a weird location, since it shares the building with the plasma donation center.

Cool barrel-vault ceiling though - I had no idea the building featured this.

An empty (but dry) Kalamazoo Mall. The heated sidewalks sure help.

Home2 Suites / Hilton Garden Inn.

Framing is up to the 2nd floor on the Home2 Suites portion.

Bronson Labs - exterior work is all but complete now.

Same for 400 Rose. Just need the balcony guard railings.

Bronson Cancer Pavilion is making fast progress and it is semi-enclosed now.

South of downtown, The Creamery is progressing. It feels like slow progress on this one. Interesting kind of hybrid construction too. North end is all wood-framed. South end is steel-framed. I think there is a daycare / commercial uses planned for the south end though. So we still might see a trnsition to wood-framing above this, because I think the apartments span the entire length on the upper floors.
