New Stamford Bridge, 60,000
Chelsea FC have moved forward with a public consultation of their plans to completely rebuild Stamford Bridge. Designed by Herzog and de Meuron, the stadium profile was heavily influenced by the adjacent Brompton Cemetery, hence the cathedral-like arches and circular roof. Lastly, 4 million bricks will be used in the stadiums’ construction.

Olympic Stadium, 60,000
With the Rugby World Cup nearing, various test events have been taking place at the renovated post-legacy Olympic Stadium. I myself have some tickets for the France v Romania match, so will be interesting to see how the stadium copes when at capacity. The pictures also show the temporary seating that is erected when not in athletics mode, and interestingly West Ham United let slip that there is space to raise the capacity to 66,000 for football matches by filling in the top tiers should there be demand.
