Another new mixed-use apartment proposed for
downtown Ann Arbor. The earlier plan for a new bath house on this site was a neat idea. More interesting than another apartment block anyway, and if it were to work anywhere in Michigan, Ann Arbor was a good spot to try. Too bad there turned out to be not enough interest, and the owner ran into financial problems. The public bath houses in Japan / eastern culture are a social gathering space, not just somewhere to get clean. They seem to have a stigma here though - oh well.
