Who cares if it's a park. As long as it doesn't cost the city another fortune. I rather see a park then another city building half empty just so some officials can stretch their legs in their office.
Plus that area doesn't have a park anywhere close. And don't say central or juba is close. No one wants to walk 6-8 blocks to sit in a park. Also don't say the little postage stamp Markets Square park either. That place isn't what I call a park.
And second which you seem to miss all the time as you want a concrete jungle for some reason is people living downtown need green space. That area has zero right now and we could make a interesting asain themed one to fit the areas cultural feel.
Just don't forget there was a awesome farmers market there at one time. That could be an option also. We also have a boatload of RRC students that I bet would love a park to relax in.
I guess I am just a little more biased for the need for green space that's functional for each area the most being an Arborist and having studied this in university in great detail.
