LAmar, it's actually #10.
While news about a possible large new hilton hotel being built on the block where a huge twin tower proj originally was penciled in a few yrs ago.....very traditional neo classical towers (anyone remember them?).....which was eventually cancelled.....is why it's best to wait til actual work is underway before taking a proposal too seriously. too many dashed hopes & false starts through the yrs.
so far, no one has taken a pic of work beginning on the apt proj at Olympic & Hill st, or #6.

they also mentioned that the facade of the broad museum will start being installed in july. I guess that bldg's unusual or complicated design is why the pace of change seems to have been on hold for several wks.
their update also has a pic of work on the old UA theater, soon to be ace hotel....

^ I'm impressed by how extensive the outer scaffolding is, since it means the new owner must be doing a very good clean up of the bldg. I know the cupola had become very worn out, with parts of its top looking damaged or missing. the fact a similar large scaffolding has not been used in work on the clark hotel, which is in more serious need of renovation, does make me concerned.
the update also said the same owner of the Clark has suspended work on their embassy bldg at 9th & hope st.

The fact an owner of such important bldgs in dt appears to be undercapitalized makes me apprehensive about what the clark & embassy may be like in the future, certainly if they don't draw lots of customers once they're up & running.
btw, thanks pwright, blackcat & mojeda for your pics. they help keep everyone up to date.
