I hear what you're saying, but do we actually
know that most people want increased density and urbanism? It would be interesting to see some hard data on where public opinion stands on this. If in fact it's just a few die-hard old fogeys who are opposing it, that might help those who are pushing increased density. On the other hand, if the numbers don't bear that out, then maybe we should move in a different direction.
While there has certainly been growth in multifamily housing throughout the metro area, the city's single family neighborhoods continue to be a very strong draw.
