It was first approved as a 32 home residential building in 2018 under the existing HA-1A zoning. Last year, a development permit was approved that allowed for 53 hotel rooms as an alternate form of use instead.

I think the 2018 approval for the revised design was for Anthem? They're not developing the hotel though, that's a company called QWID Capital. They've got a design and build contract with a Burnaby company to construct the hotel. They were intending to develop the building as condos until last year, and then switched to hotel.
