Great info, thanks for the post.
Although after the sluggish sales of MC2 I'm surprised they are developing this so soon. |
Thanks for posting! This is now the 7th tower of 20+ floors for that area. It seems that they will be rebuilding the whole area completely in just a few years, which is just crazy! Now that's how you populate a Skytrain station. :)

what kind of noise can be expected in that area from planes?
|
Interesting, thanks for sharing.
<red tape lover> Is there an OCP for that area yet? Such rapid development makes me a wee bit concerned as for future livability if it hasn't been planned yet. </red tape lover> |

The Cambie Corridor plan is kind of like an OCP,
http://vancouver.ca/home-property-de...idor-plan.aspx The Marpole plan is wrapping up later this year as well, but a lot of the ideas are already set out. http://vancouver.ca/home-property-de...nity-plan.aspx Seems l was beaten to the punch. |
Perfect, thanks. I really should have Googled that myself first.
Looks like after this site, there are 2-3 more that can be developed and then as far as the OCP goes, all of the >6 story sites will be gone. These things sure are sprouting up quickly around here. I suppose a lack of nimbyism due to all of the industrial nearby can create such an environment. |
thanks for the post .... I like this pair of towers

I think the 14 storey looks like it on the site of Denny's. |

They just re did that Denny's too. I'm also wondering what will happen to the subway. I think there were plans to build a subway at marine gateway. |

looks like that little Japanese book store will be gone then, man, Japanese book stores can't get a break around here!
|
This project would work better if the mews opened onto the intersection of Cambie & Marine Drive (cut between the two main towers); put the podium on the north edge of the site instead. Or just go taller on the third building. IMO...
|
This project has been sold by Wesgroup to Onni within the last few weeks for an un-disclosed sum. No word on launch of sales or construction timelines.
|
Well, the extensive balconies should prevent any spandrel additions from marring the appearance of the building.

And this doesn't happen often on singular sites. It happens with large master-planned communities however not on singular projects with a tower or two, at least not in Vancouver. |
